Der Philodendron Scandens ist in den tropischen Regenwäldern Mittel- und Südamerikas beheimatet. Es gibt viele verschiedene Arten von Philodendron. Die meisten Philodendrons sind Kletterpflanzen. In der Natur wachsen sie mit ihren Luftwurzeln nach oben, um Licht einzufangen.
Philodendren können auch an einem schattigen Platz stehen, aber diese Zimmerpflanze bevorzugt einen Platz mit viel indirektem Licht.
