"Clematis Rouge Cardinal" ist eine großblütige Clematis mit dunkelrotem bis tiefen Purperrodenblüten. Diese Blumen erscheinen von Mai bis Juni. Die Pflanze selbst kann bis zu 3,5 m hoch werden und hat ziemlich hellgrüne Blätter. Die Clematis sind winterhart, aber laubhaft. Das Beschneiden dieser Pflanze ist nicht notwendig, ist jedoch möglich, wenn sie beispielsweise zu groß wird. Da diese große Clematis ziemlich früh blüht, ist es ratsam, erst nach der Blüte zu beschneiden. Damit die Clematis besser klettern kann, braucht er ein wenig Hilfe. Es ist am besten, die Anlage entlang eines Racks, Drahtes oder Aufklebens zu führen. Die Clematis läuft daher sowohl im Halbschatten als auch in der Sonne sehr gut.
